Summary

What it measures:

Assesses plantar flexion endurance in weightbearing

Target Population:

People with foot and ankle conditions

Silbernagel et al examined the total work performed during heel raises (body weight × total displacement) and found this measure to be more discriminating than the number of heel raises for patients after Achilles tendon repair. When calculating work, the displacement of the body weight during each heel raise must be quantified.
