The power of optimism in wellness pursuits.
Physical therapists (PTs) and physical therapist assistants (PTAs) tend to be a pretty optimistic group. That's partly because we're tuned into the value of exercise, sleep, nutrition, and other healthy practices that foster a brighter outlook on life. But I also think that ours is a caring profession that naturally attracts optimistic clinicians.
The patients and clients we serve clearly benefit from our outlook. We not only encourage them to optimize their immediate opportunities and outcomes regarding movement, but, as increasing numbers of us expand into wellness services, we also help individuals maintain their long-term health and well-being. We guide patients and clients toward a brighter future—providing opportunities to lead a richer and more abundant life. We're sparks of hope that can catalyze forward movement—as opposed to languishing in a state of "Someday," "Tomorrow," or "If only."
