When you look in it, see your clients, too.
PTs (physical therapists) and physical therapist assistants (PTAs) across the country are integrating wellness services into their offerings in the clinic. But as highly motivated as many PTs are to expand this part of their business, and as mindful as they are that wellness is an important part of life and an increasingly important aspect of the services PTs and PTAs can offer to clients, this is something they're adding to their primary employment—and, of course, on top of their various family roles and responsibilities, as well. Getting a wellness business going is yet another thing they must fit into their time-squeezed daily schedule—and fitting it in is tough!
That brings up a critical point that we'd all do well, as PTs and PTAs, to keep fresh in our minds: Our clients feel exactly as we do when they take on new wellness pursuits in their lives. Knowing this can foster an even deeper sense of empathy with our current and future clients.
