Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants agree upon becoming members of APTA that they will abide by the APTA's Code of Ethics for Physical Therapists and Standards of Ethical Conduct for the Physical Therapist Assistant.
If you believe that a PT member of APTA has violated the Code of Ethics for the Physical Therapist, or a PTA member has violated the Standards of Ethical Conduct for the Physical Therapist Assistant, please file a complaint to APTA's Ethics and Judicial Committee.
You can file a complaint by submitting the form below.
To complete the form, you will need to provide the name of the member you are filing a complaint about. You will also need to describe how the member’s behavior violated the Code or Standards.
Do not submit complaints against entities, business, or institutions, as they are not members of APTA. Please submit one form for each individual you believe has violated the Code or Standards.
Only those complaints that allege that an individual member of APTA violated the Code or Standards will be eligible for review by the Ethics and Judicial Committee. Members are always given the opportunity to submit a response to a complaint submitted about them. The Ethics and Judicial Committee will review only the information submitted with the complaint and the member's response and will make a decision in accordance with APTA's Disciplinary Action Procedural Document.
