Clinical Insights

The Tegner Activity Scale is used in order to provide a standardized method to grade work and sporting activities. It was designed not to be a stand-alone outcome score, but to be used in conjunction with the Lysholm scale for ACL patients. I do not see this scale used very often in the clinic. It does not provide much information besides a broad level of function that the patient subjectively believes they are achieving. It's a very quick and easy form to fill out and does not need much instruction. However, it may not be clinically relevant in most cases, since the information will be gathered during a subjective exam anyway.
