Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) - Down Syndrome (DS)

Summary

What it measures:

Change in gross motor function over time. There are several versions; GMFM-88 has been validated for use in children with Down syndrome. (Russell et al, 1998).

Target Population:

Children with Down syndrome

From Russell et al: "The 'reported' scores on the GMFM demonstrated better evidence of reliability, validity, and responsiveness than the standard scoring method and this approach is recommended for use when assessing children with DS."
