Summary

What it measures:

The FACES pain scale is a self-reported pain scale that was created to assess the intensity of children’s pain. Based on the perception of the patient, FACES uses pictures to measure pain intensity. (2)  The scale has six faces with scores of 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10.

Target Population:

Nonverbal children and verbal children over age 3 (1)
