Summary
What it measures:
The 2-Minute Step Test (2MST) is used to assess aerobic endurance and functional fitness originally in the geriatric population (aged 60-94 years)1; however, this test is also used with populations such as cancer, Alzheimer dementia, cardiovascular disease (heart failure, HTN), stroke, renal disease, pulmonary disorder, healthy adults, and mixed populations (fallers, fragility, sarcopenia, and cognitive impairment).

The 2-minute Step Test outcome measure is a quick and simple tool to evaluate functional aerobic endurance when time and space are limited.
