Mark your calendars: Two of APTA's signature events and highest honors — the Mary McMillan Lecture and John H.P. Maley Lecture — are now on the books for 2024.

Judith E. Deutsch, PT, PhD, FAPTA, was named the 55th annual McMillan Lecturer, and will deliver her presentation as part of the upcoming APTA Combined Sections Meeting, Feb. 15-17 in Boston. Philip McClure, PT, PhD, FAPTA, will deliver the 29th annual Maley Lecture during the 2024 APTA Leadership Congress, July 19-23 in Kansas City, Missouri. Deutsch is professor and director of the Research in Virtual Environments and Rehabilitation Sciences (Rivers) Lab in the Doctoral Programs in Physical Therapy in the School of Health Professions at Rutgers University. Her current research includes the development and testing of virtual reality, serious games to improve mobility and fitness of individuals with neurologic health conditions, and knowledge translation to strengthen evidence-based practice. She is the author of an award-winning textbook on clinical reasoning and complementary therapies and has co-authored clinical reasoning frameworks.

McClure is professor and chair of physical therapy at Arcadia University, in Glennsdale, Pennsylvania, and an author of over 70 peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters. McClure's research has included laboratory and clinical studies related to spinal biomechanics, scapular dysfunction, rotator cuff disorders and shoulder functional performance testing. He has chaired the Research Committee of the Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy, and was an invited expert reviewer for systematic reviews related to the rotator cuff for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

Register for APTA CSM now. The APTA Leadership Congress is an invited in-person event, but the Maley lecture will be recorded and made available to all APTA members.
