The purpose of the PTCAS Work Group is to counsel APTA and its vendor for PTCAS, Liaison International, on the management, assessment, and promotion of the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS).
While APTA staff make all final decisions relative to PTCAS, feedback from the PTCAS Work Group is taken under advisement.
Responsibilities
Members of the PTCAS Work Group are expected to:
- Collaborate with APTA staff to update PTCAS forms, policies, procedures, and reports that are designed to meet the needs of DPT education program applicants and the DPT education community.
- Promote PTCAS to physical therapist education programs, prospective students, health professions advisors, and other related individuals and organizations.
- Evaluate the performance of PTCAS products and services.
- Recommend, review, and approve changes to tools and services to enhance the value of PTCAS in subsequent application cycles.
Workgroup Eligibility
All PTCAS Work Group members must represent a DPT education program that participates in PTCAS, or be a student that has applied through PTCAS. Members must understand or participate in the local admissions process for the entry-level DPT education program. Volunteers who are physical therapists, PT educators, or PT students must be members of APTA. No more than one representative from an institution can serve at the same time.
