There are two things I know to be true and I believe we should all recognize: (1) prejudices exist in our everyday world; the LGBQT+ community, women, and people of color experience this in different ways and at varying degrees, and (2) the physical therapy profession, community, and institutions are not immune to this.
After reading blog posts written by Briana Harris and Michael Cromartie about their experiences as physical therapy students of color, I was inspired to write about my own story as a first-generation Mexican American.
