At What Price Efficiency?

Jim has been a staff physical therapist (PT) at Bluefin Rehab for 8 years and loves everything about his job—the patient and client mix, the professionalism and camaraderie of his colleagues, and the inspired leadership of practice owner Lisa. He's concerned, therefore, when Lisa sells the business to a large corporate entity, announcing her intention to retire to the beach and "trade my lab coat for a bathing suit."

Lisa reassures staff that she's vetted the new owners and is confident they're "good guys" who will keep intact the patient-centered ethos that has been Bluefin's calling card in its quarter-century serving the community. Jim is further mollified by the news that Lisa will stay on as practice manager for a year.
