One of the great things about the physical therapy profession is how many career options and paths one can take. Whether it’s the settings, patient populations, or specialty areas, this profession offers a wide variety to its community.
Today, we're talking to two professionals who chose to pursue a PhD after finishing physical therapy school. Chris Lane, PT, DPT, is a PhD candidate at the University of North Carolina, and Louise Thoma, PT, DPT, PhD, is an assistant professor at the University of North Carolina.
In this episode we talk to Chris and Louise about their career journeys, things to consider when pursuing a PhD, both personally and professionally, and advice they'd give to those interested in this professional path. Here's our discussion.
